Twas a warm Saturday evening when I came into the world. Born in Washington, DC - although I claim Bowie, MD, because that's where I grew up. My parents were so happy because, even though they had my older brother (older by two years and two days) they'd always wanted a baby girl - and look how the Lord worked a miracle! Hallelujah!
Throughout my life music has always been a constant. I can recall my first solo in the children's choir, at 3 years old, and singing about thanking God for everything. Then, I began to ask myself, "Who is this God they keep making me sing about? And why do I have to thank Him for everything? What did He do for me?" As I got older I learned that God gave me this gift and talent because He knew that is what will always bring me back to Him.
Wherever I go, whatever I do, there's always a song to remind me of what matters most - Jesus! Every morning God breathes His breath of life into me, and my song to Him is the breath I give back. So I respond to the call and kneel before His feet, flaws and all, saying, "Here I am, Lord! Send me!"
